does anyone know of a food for bettas that works like a laxative??? i ask because the male i'm medicating for the worms looks like he's going to explode...i think that he may either have worms stuck in his digestive track or in his stomach... will spirulina flakes help??? when i puit food in the tank he tries to eat but spits it back out, i guess cause there is no where for it to go... he's not showing any signs of the worms protruding from his anal opening any more but his stomach is HUGE....what can i do?Huh??

People usually recommend shelled peas for that purpose, but I have never tried it myself.  Is he swimming normally?

he is swimming fin and upon closer look its actually one side that is way mor swolen than the other wish i could snap a shot of it but if you look at him dead on under his head you can see his stomsch only on side is bigger and hangs lower than the other... i'll try with i diagram

0o  <------------ take the 2 o's and flip them upside down and imagine a bettas face infront of them the two top loops of the o's would be what his stomach look like....not sure if that description helps but thats about all i can relat to it

Could possibly be a blockage..... I would fast the little guy and then try the pea. (use a knife to much it up and then feed him little pieces)

The only other thing i can think of is a tumor but it sounds like t his has just occurred so that not likely...

pretty sure its not a tumor... i think it is just a blockage. i'm gonna try to starve the tank for a couple days especially since i have to keep it dark while i re medicate it for the worms...hopefully that will hlp push out whatever is stopping him up
